CanvasPrint AI: a canvas shop with one honest price
A canvas shop with one honest price.
The problem
Buying one canvas print online has become a game. Sites run permanent "up to 80% off" sales against a list price nobody pays, and the real cost, mostly shipping, appears at the last step. Nobody tells you your phone photo is too small for the size you picked until it arrives blurry.
What we built
A web shop that turns one photo into a stretched canvas print:
- Photo check. It reads the photo's pixel size and works out the print resolution for all ten sizes. Sizes under 100 DPI are refused (on the server, not only on screen); 100–149 DPI get a warning.
- One price. Every price comes from the print lab's live quote for that size, edge, address and shipping speed, plus a fixed margin, and is shown before a card is entered. The server computes every charge.
- Printed on demand. A professional print-on-demand lab prints, stretches and ships the canvas. A print order is created only after the card payment has succeeded, and only once per payment.
- Ten sizes (8×10 to 30×40 inches), four edge finishes, three shipping speeds, nine countries.
What it does now (2026-09-23)
- Live: https://canvasprintai.vercel.app. The site has pages for each feature, live pricing, a demo, FAQ and security, about, and draft legal pages.
- Works today: choosing a photo (it stays on the visitor's device), the photo check, the size and edge picker, live prices. Every price shown is live.
- Switched off on purpose: card payments and print orders stay closed until the owner opens them. Test mode needs Stripe test keys; live mode needs the owner's word.
Stack
Next.js 14 on Vercel · Stripe Payment Element (server-side PaymentIntents) · Prodigi Print API v4 for quotes and fulfilment · Vercel Blob for print files · Tailwind.
Outcome
No orders yet: orders have not opened. Prices on record: from $58.24 delivered in the US for an 8×10 (live quote, 2026-09-23 01:26 EDT). There are no sales, customer or satisfaction figures, and this page claims none.
